How to merge PDF files
- Drop your PDFs in. Each one is checked straight away and its page count is shown.
- Put them in order — drag the rows, use the arrows, or Sort by name if your files are numbered.
- Press Merge PDFs and download a single document. Nothing is uploaded at any point.
There is no limit on how many files you combine, and no watermark on the result.
Getting the order right
The merged file follows your list from top to bottom, so ordering is the part worth a second look. Three ways to do it:
- Drag and drop a row to where it belongs. A blue line shows where it will land.
- Arrow buttons move a file up or down one place. These work on phones and tablets too, where dragging is fiddly.
- Sort by name puts files in natural order, so page-2 comes before page-10. Handy when files are already numbered. Reverse flips the whole list.
What the merged PDF keeps
Every page comes across exactly as it was: text stays selectable and searchable, images keep their original quality, and links on the page still work. Nothing is re-rendered or re-compressed — the pages are copied, not redrawn.
Two things don't carry over. Bookmarks from the original files aren't combined into the new one, and fillable form fields may stop being fillable. If a form matters, fill it in and save or print it to PDF first, then merge.
Merging documents for an application
Visa portals, job applications, university admissions and exam boards often accept exactly one PDF, while you have a passport scan, a certificate and a signed form as separate files. Merge them here in the order the form asks for.
If some of your pages are photos rather than PDFs, turn them into a PDF first with JPG to PDF. To pull pages back out as images, use PDF to JPG.
Nothing is uploaded
Most free PDF mergers upload your files to a server, and many cap how many you can combine before asking you to sign up or pay. Here the PDFs are read and joined inside your browser, so they never leave your device, and there are no caps.
That matters for the documents people most often merge: signed contracts, bank statements, payslips, tax forms and ID scans.
